USA – Boy Scouts Ready $800 million for Child Sex Abuse Settlements

Boy Scouts of America have secured $800 million via one of its primary insurers, Chubb Ltd on Monday, to settle around 82,500 claims of child sexual abuse.

The bankrupt organisation now has some $2.7 billion available to resolve those claims.

Despite the seemingly large sum, a committee representing some of the claimants stands in opposition to the deal, saying it compromises too much and gives the organization potential for bankruptcy reorganization.

OK, I want to preface this article by stating that it is entirely anecdotal and based on my experience working as a doctor in the emergency room of one of the big hospitals in Stockholm, Sweden, and of living as a citizen in Sweden.

As many people know, Sweden is perhaps the country that has taken the most relaxed attitude of any towards the covid pandemic.

PETA launches human leather ‘shop’ [VIDEO]

Animal rights group PETA is making waves with the introduction of “Urban Outraged,” a satirical online ‘store’ selling clothing and accessories made from human skin.

“Human skin is ‘in,” PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals), wrote in its press release about the store. To protest clothing and materials made from animals, the group flipped the situation and instead presented images of hypothetical jackets and handbags derived from humans.

The items listed on the website are of course not for sale, but clicking on the site’s purchase button will take a user to even more displays of cruelty, showing slaughtered sheep and cows in gruesome fashion and asking, “Why aren’t you horrified by what’s already in your closet?”

How hackers steal money online – Website Cloning – [VIDEO]

Anamika learned about it the hard way.

She thought she was renting an apartment on Airbnb. Unfortunately, scammers tricked her into using a fake website and paying twice for a phoney apartment. As a result, she lost more than $4,000 and trust in online payments.

What Anamika fell for was a social engineering trick.

Such methods exploit human psychology to manipulate and lure unsuspecting users.
